  • What is the minimum age requirement for the Class III-IV South Fork Payette River trips?

    For the full and half-day South Fork trips (Class III-IV), participants must meet the following requirements: be at least 12 years old, weigh at least 100 pounds, be in good health, and ready to paddle. Safety and enjoyment are our priorities, ensuring everyone's well-being throughout the thrilling adventure.

  • What is the capacity of a raft on the South Fork Payette River trips?

     The more adventurous "Thrill" trips on the South Fork (full and half day), accommodate 6 paddlers in addition to the guide. These are general guidelines and are flexible depending on safety considerations such as the water levels and the total weight of the rafters. If you have any questions about how we will accommodate your specific group, please give us a call.

  • What clothing is recommended for a South Fork Payette River white water rafting trip?

    To ensure your comfort during the trip, we recommend wearing water-friendly attire, like a swimsuit, nylon shorts, a t-shirt, and river sandals or water-friendly tennis shoes. Cotton clothing is best avoided, except during hot summer months. No need to worry about colder water or cooler weather as we offer complimentary wetsuits and insulating gear. For added convenience, changing rooms with lockers and restrooms are available at our river center. Don't forget to bring a change of clothes for after the adventure!

  • What essential items should I bring for our rafting adventure?

    For a comfortable rafting experience, we recommend bringing sunscreen, water, a hat, and a towel. Secure glasses with a strap. Check out our gift shop for Chums glasses retainers and waterproof phone cases. Prepare for getting wet, and use our free lockers at the River Center for your belongings. Remember, glass containers and alcohol are not allowed on the river. Your safety and enjoyment are our priority!

  • Will I be responsible to paddle the raft?

    During the full and half-day South Fork trips (Class III-IV whitewater), active participation is essential. All participants will need to paddle together to safely navigate the challenging rapids. Teamwork and coordination ensure an exhilarating and secure rafting experience.

  • What happens if it rains on the day of my whitewater rafting trip?

    Our rafting trips operate rain or shine; we are prepared for any weather conditions. While showers are rare during the Idaho summer and are typically brief and isolated, we do not make advance changes to our scheduled departures based on the weather. Rest assured, we provide all the necessary equipment, such as wetsuits and splash jackets, to ensure your comfort on the water. Remember, you're going to get wet anyway, so enjoy the adventure!
