What's the closest rafting trip to McCall or Cascade?

The Cabarton "Escape" full-day trip. Its put-in and take-out sit between Cascade and Banks, and — when arranged in advance — we'll meet north-end guests at Cougar Mountain Lodge in Smith's Ferry, about 15–20 minutes from Cascade and 35–40 from McCall.

Can you meet us near town?

Yes — by advance arrangement. For the Cabarton run, McCall and Cascade guests can arrange to meet us at Cougar Mountain Lodge in Smith's Ferry instead of the River Center, but it must be confirmed ahead of time by phone (208-793-2221) or email. Without a confirmed arrangement, please plan to check in at our River Center north of Horseshoe Bend.

What ages can go rafting?

Kids as young as 5 are welcome on the Cabarton and Main Payette (Class II–III) trips. The South Fork (Class III–IV) trips require rafters to be 12 or older and at least 100 pounds.

When is rafting season?

Trips run roughly May through September. The Cabarton's warmer water — straight off Lake Cascade — makes it a comfortable pick well into the season.
