Main Payette | Class II–III | Ages 5+
The Main Payette is the sweet spot between relaxing and exciting. Gentle currents and beautiful surroundings give way to splashy Class II–III rapids that get the whole boat whooping — then ease back into a float that reminds you why you came to Idaho in the first place. Perfect for families, first-timers, and groups of all kinds. Kids as young as 5 are welcome, no experience needed, and not everyone even needs to paddle.

Ready for the real thing? The South Fork of the Payette delivers Class III–IV rapids set against stunning Idaho wilderness — an adrenaline-pumping, breathtaking experience that beginners and seasoned adventurers alike talk about long after they’re dry. Everyone paddles on this trip, and your expert guide will make sure you’re ready. Ages 12 and up, 100 lbs minimum. No prior experience required — just a sense of adventure.

Yes — we run rain or shine. Idaho summer showers are short, and you’re getting wet anyway. We provide wetsuits and splash jackets as needed at no extra charge.
What should I bring?
Wear clothes you don’t mind getting wet — swimsuit, nylon shorts, water-friendly shoes. Bring sunscreen, water, and a towel. All rafting equipment is provided. Free lockers are available at our River Center.
