Jake has been guiding since 2018 on the Deerfield River in Western Massachusetts, where he learned to raft, kayak, canoe—and occasionally swim. He’s developed a deep love for whitewater in all its forms, with a special passion for helping families and friends navigate big rapids and share in the adventure. This year, Jake is heading west to the sunny banks of the Payette, bringing his East Coast experience to new rivers and bigger flows. Whether it’s your first trip or your fiftieth, he’s all about creating a fun, safe, and memorable day on the water. Off the river, Jake enjoys cooking good food, playing guitar, building things, fixing engines, and starting (not necessarily finishing) a ridiculous array of projects. In the winter, he works in the ski rental shop at Berkshire East—though when the rain comes, the crew is quick to trade skis for paddles and chase high water.
